Activity restrictions, wound care, pain management, constipation protocol, warning signs, and cervical surgery addendum.
Avoid ibuprofen, aspirin, and naproxen (Advil®, Motrin®, Aleve®) for at least 6 months after fusion surgery — these inhibit bone healing.
Call 2–3 weeks after surgery. Fusion patients with hardware require X-rays — call if you need a prescription mailed to you.

Pre-op labs are typically scheduled 1–2 weeks before surgery. Our office will coordinate this for you.

Spinal implants may trigger airport security. There is no bypass card — TSA will conduct a routine secondary screening. This is normal and expected.
For post-operative questions, call our office during business hours. For urgent concerns after hours, contact the St. Agnes emergency department.
